The Chrysanthemum spoon idea has gone rampant over the past several months on Pinterest and there are so many versions of it now, along with tutorials, that you have plenty to choose from if you would like to make one.  This pretty yellow Chrysanthemum Clock was made by Cheryl at That’s What Che Said.  Cheryl’s twist of adding a clock and using bright sunny yellow makes her version stand out in the crowd.

Katie from Little Things Bring Smiles created this bright red threesome.  I love the pop of red in her dining room.  Her tutorial is incredibly detailed and contains lots of great tips and hints that she learned along the way.

Of course, I had to get in on the action.  During a meeting of my craft club this summer, we each made our version of the Chrysanthemum mirror.  The results and a tutorial were shown on Suzys Artsy Craftsy Sitcom.

And where did this great idea start?  Well, after a bit of research and Pinterest eyeballing, I’m going to hazard a guess and say the originator may be Kristi from Addicted2Decorating.  I know that her mirror inspired my craft group and we just loved the ombre fade of color to the edges.  Fantastic tutorial on her site too, along with other amazing ideas.

So, if you happen to have a bunch of plastic spoons and a bit of time, choose your favorite tutorial and have at it!  I guarantee folks will be amazed at the results.
