Round Pendants from Newspapers!

I ran across a great crafty video created by Hectanooga Patterns that shows how to create round pendants from cardboard and newspapers.  Check this out!

So, naturally I had to try it myself.  I immediately thought of creating some pendants using the funny pages.  However, I soon discovered that I didn’t have any in my stashes of newspapers.  So I decided to go another direction.

I don’t drink soda, so I substituted the bottle cap with a glue cap.  I certainly have plenty of those lying around.

True to my crafty self, I used the Michael’s flyer to wrap my cardboard circles.  I don’t own any paperclips, apparently, so I used safety pins.  That is the little circle on the end of the safety pin that you see.  I coated each with a good coat of Mod Podge.

And then because I’m the queen of substitution, I used an old quilting magazine for my pendant fronts.  Adding several final coats of Mod Podge and painting the edges and backs gold and copper.

A simple project with very cool results!

I stopped by from Suzy’s Artsy Craftsy Sitcom and boy am I glad I did. I am pretty sure I can do this. I don’t have any Mod Podge here in Greece but a tourist lady said she would send me some. I am so excited. thank you :D
