Totally Green Contest! Enter to win over $600 in prizes!

by Susan

Edited : The score cards are being tallied and the final 12 will be announced on Monday, November 19!

Welcome to the Holiday Edition of the Totally Green Contest!  This thrifty contest is a competition between our readers with the intent of creating awesomeness from recycled items. Johnnie and I are challenging you to submit your best projects based on our recycled theme.

And why do you want to do this?  Well, how about over $600 in prizes?  Seriously.  Nearly twice the loot from the last contest!  In fact, we have so many fabulous sponsors this time, that we have divided the prizes up a bit.  There will be a first, second, and third place winner!

Enough great gifty items to give you a good head start on the holiday giving!  Well, that is if you don’t decide to keep them all to yourself!

Our theme for this challenge is Holiday Decor.  Anything with a holiday theme, as long as you use at least one recycled item.  Fun, right?

Rules are as follows:

1.- Submit your project to admin@totallygreencrafts.com.  Please be sure to include at least one clear photo of your finished project along with your name, email address and link to your website post (if applicable). You do not need to have a website in order to participate!

2. Your project must be your own creation, but it doesn’t have to be original.  (Even though original is a good thing!) It must incorporate the theme of the contest.

3.  Your project can be a current project, or one that you created previously- as long as it is your own.  Please only one project submission per person.

4.  You have until  8:00 PM EST, Friday, November 16, 2012 to submit your project.

5.  It is totally not required, but  you can follow Totally Green Crafts on Facebook so that you don’t miss any of the contest happenings!

6. International contestants are welcome!  Heck, we have international sponsors!

We will be posting the entries as we receive them so that you can keep an eye on the competition!

On November 17, Johnnie and I will narrow it down to the top twelve and then put it out to you, the readers,  for a vote to narrow it to the top six.  The top six will have a chance for a final vote, where the final three winners will be decided.

And what will they win?  Well, sit back, grab a cup of coffee,  and check out this amazing list of sponsors!

Grand Prize- Worth over $450!

I am always learning and exploring techniques in crafting.  Every piece I make has a story – some are made from upcycled materials and others are inspired by people and places that mean something to me. All come packaged in pretty wrapping for you!

Can this be anything, like ornaments, wreaths, etc?

Yes it can! Anything you would like! The only rules are something has to be incorporated that is recycled.

Does it have to be Christmas or can it be any holiday? I have an item that would be great, but it is Halloween themed and it is pretty time consuming. I could make a Christmas one if I have to, but if you will take the Halloween one, it would be great.

Sure Pam, any holiday is fine! The only guideline is that it has to include a recycled item.

I recently had surgery and had a drain tube that should have just slipped out when the time came to take it out, but it wouldn’t come out. They pulled, and pulled…til it broke off…inside my leg…making another trip to the surgery room with more surgery to remove the tube…three surgeries in 6 days. Anyway, they gave me the tube…about three inches long, and I am going to make a necklace out of if. Can I submit something like that? it really is recycled…from my leg!
